Materials

The highest quality chromoly or stainless steel tubing, cast lugs, and cast or machined braze-ons are selected for each Folk Engineered bicycle. Building out of steel has many advantages that newer materials cannot offer:

• A light, lively, and comfortable ride

• Methods of joining that allow great accuracy

• Joining occurs at low temperatures, resulting in little metallurgical effects

• The ability for stronger lugged construction

• The ability to use lighter gauge tubing

• The ability to repair in case of accident

• Overall longer-lived frames and a more responsive ride
