Folk Engineered does its manufacturing in-house.
Our products are made in Newark, New Jersey.

Materials
We select the highest quality chromoly or stainless steel tubing, cast lugs, and cast or machined braze-ons for each Folk Engineered bicycle. We use Henry James, True Temper, and PAUL whenever possible. These renowned and trusted American companies ensure our frames are high quality and truly made in the USA.

-
Why Steel?
- - A light, lively, and comfortable ride
- - Methods of joining that allow great accuracy and little metallurgical effects
- - The ability for stronger lugged construction and lighter guage tubing
- - The ability to repair in case of accident
- - Overall longer-lived frames and a more responsive ride

Methods
Tubing and lugs are shaped light tight to each bike’s dimensions. The parts are brazed into a frame and fork while staying aligned in a jig. Brazing is a method of joining metal using brass or silver for filler and an oxy-acetylene torch for heat. Brazing is a traditional art that has proven over centuries to be low-impact, reliable, and precise.
